Re: Could be a good plan for me

Hey look it's like email, but without a "To:" field.

Replying to satki's post (current version may be different).

Content note: I know her, and she knows me, and a great deal of trust has accumulated between us, so my style will not be the way I speak to strangers, but rather for the amusement of satki and those who know us. Also I'm writing this while very ill.

Omg will you please learn to use markdown so you can stop hurting my eyes!

Links like this:

[link text](link address)

Perhaps you knew, but couldn't be bothered. Which is fair.

Quotes like this:

>quoted text

Not this:

"Quoted text"

Ugh. Disgusting.

I suppose it's more effort when there are multiple paragraphs. You have to add ">" to the beginning of each paragraph.

I guess it just shows how much you care about the experience of the audience. I.e. not a lot. Which, I approve of. You're writing for you.

Moving on...

Seeing "A Course in Miracles" unitalicised offends me. I don't seem to care that the other book titles also aren't italicised - only the precious. Capitalising the "in" is a mistake I used to make, and can therefore be 'forgiven'.

Italicise like this:

*words that will be italicised*

Now I'm done criticising your style (see what I did there? The word "style" is italicised!), I can move on to the content.

Going through A Course In Miracles Lessons (At your pace)

Actually I would not recommend that for you (or for anyone who hasn't read the Text, and before that, The Disappearance of the Universe). I would not even recommend The Work of Byron Katie for you. You're not ready for it. I would recommend The Power of Now and other works by Eckhart Tolle.

Letting Go & Sedona Method (Practice Surrender 24/7

That's what Denis does (or used to). You don't have his motivation.

But while I'm here, I'll drop my Sedona Method cheat sheet:

Is there a feeling of wanting to figure it out?
Could you let go of wanting to figure out the problem?
Would you?
When?

Is there any feeling of wanting to defend, justify or explain the problem?
Could you let go of the feeling of wanting to defend, justify or explain the problem?
Would you?
When?

Are you rejecting yourself or the problem?
Could you let go of the feeling of rejecting yourself and your problem and accept yourself and the problem as best you can?
Would you?
When?

Another markdown tip: to get a new line, add two spaces to the end of the previous line.

I'd be very picky about what spiritual texts I would read - e.g. Bible never

That was my reaction too. Calling the Bible a 'spiritual text' reveals something about the background of the author. Interesting that ACIM isn't included in that category. The Text of A Course in Miracles must be in their blind spot. As a rule, no one wants to read the Text.

Oh my God, is that a horizonal line!? It is! You did some markdown formatting! Or maybe you just didn't know that --- is syntactically meaningful.

"Life is loving and peaceful & we're infinite beings with unlimited potential".

Uhh. That is such a bliss ninny/spiritual bypassing1 comment. I suppose the ACIM equivalent (translated into neutral language by me) would be:

I am not a body. I am free.
For I am still as Truth created me.

Unclear why you are taking meditation advice from random redditors when you have me, Jules, Denis, and Alison. Oh right, because you don't want to be challenged that much.

Develop my own plan. Taking what I like from this and elsewhere

I look forward to that.
You're autistic. You have your own inner guidance that's much better for you than anything coming from outside, including from me. You just have to listen to it and do what it says.

  1. And level confusion. There's so many things wrong with it that I wouldn't know where to begin. Better to dispose of it with the other toxic waste. Use gloves. Wash your hands afterwards. You'd think that was redundant, but no.
And throw away the clothes you were wearing. They aren't good anymore.
